The transformer core assembly primarily consists of two key structural elements-the core limbs and the upper and lower yokes-which together form a complete, closed magnetic circuit framework that serves as the foundation for electromagnetic conversion. The core limbs are vertical structures that support the high- and low-voltage windings; they carry the primary alternating magnetic flux and facilitate magnetic coupling between the windings. The yokes-divided into upper and lower sections-connect the core limbs horizontally, linking the separate limbs into a closed loop that allows magnetic flux lines to circulate smoothly. Working in tandem, these components prevent circuit breaks and excessive magnetic leakage; the assembly features precise dimensions and high symmetry, fully meeting the magnetic conduction requirements under the transformer's rated operating conditions.


The core's main body is constructed from multiple stacked layers of grain-oriented silicon steel sheets, a factor central to the core's performance. Rather than being a solid block of steel, the core is assembled from thin silicon steel sheets stacked in an interleaved pattern; each sheet undergoes precision cutting and grinding to ensure uniform dimensions and thickness. The sheets feature a specialized insulating coating that electrically isolates them from one another, effectively suppressing eddy currents and reducing operating losses and temperature rise. Depending on the transformer's capacity and performance specifications, various grades of high-permeability silicon steel may be selected; multi-layer stacking enhances structural strength and magnetic stability, balancing low losses with mechanical robustness.


In addition to its primary structure, the core incorporates auxiliary components for clamping, fixation, and insulation to ensure long-term, stable operation. These include core clamps, fastening straps, insulating spacers, grounding strips, and cushioning elements. Clamps and fastening components secure the stacked sheets, preventing loosening or shifting caused by operational vibrations and effectively reducing noise. Insulating spacers isolate the core from the tank and clamps, ensuring adequate insulation distance to ground and preventing risks such as leakage or electrical discharge. Grounding strips provide a reliable single-point ground connection for the core, eliminating the risk of localized overheating or discharge faults caused by floating potential. The complete set of auxiliary components integrates with the transformer core assembly, enhancing structural stability and operational safety, thereby making it suitable for long-term, continuous operation.
