When installing or replacing transformer accessories, compatibility is paramount; one cannot simply rely on general model numbers. Before replacement, it is essential to verify the equipment's rated parameters, dimensional specifications, and material standards-particularly for components such as seals, bushings, and relay protection devices-as accessories are generally not interchangeable across different capacities and voltage ratings. Prior to installation, inspect the accessories for defects; do not install parts showing cracks, deformation, signs of aging, or damage. Additionally, clean the mounting surfaces to remove oil, dust, and debris, ensuring a flat, clean contact area to prevent potential issues like leaks or poor electrical contact at the source.

 

During routine operation and maintenance, apply targeted care based on the specific characteristics of each accessory. For heat dissipation components, regularly clean accumulated dust and oil to ensure unobstructed airflow; promptly repair or replace fans and radiators if they exhibit binding or abnormal speeds to prevent the transformer from overheating or overloading. Vulnerable components-such as silica gel breathers, sealing gaskets, and pressure valves-require periodic inspection based on the operational cycle; replace silica gel promptly if it changes color due to moisture, and replace seals showing signs of hardening or cracking before failure occurs, thereby avoiding issues like seal breakdown or the ingress of water and dust.


Standardized operating procedures and regular calibration are also crucial during the use of accessories to avoid rough handling or overloading. Adhere to the "power-off before operation" principle during disassembly and installation, handling parts gently to prevent impact damage to precision components or insulation structures. Protective devices such as temperature controllers, Buchholz relays, and pressure relief valves require periodic functional testing and calibration to ensure accurate readings and responsive operation, thereby preventing protection failure or false tripping. Finally, maintain detailed records of replacements and repairs; by analyzing the equipment's operating status to anticipate component wear, you can perform proactive maintenance and timely replacements, effectively extending the transformer's overall service life.
